Lloyd was a World War II army veteran serving our country in Europe, deployed to France assigned to the 66th Army division and crossed the English Channel on Christmas Eve 1944. Lloyd worked most of his life at General Electric in Holland Michigan. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family, enjoying many camping trips to Ludington State Park with children and grandchildren and deer hunting trips up north with his five boys.
Lloyd was born in Hamilton, Michigan on February 1, 1926 to Sherman and Julia DeBoer and a member of the 14th St. CRC. He was a devoted, friendly, kind hearted dad who loved his family and was married to his sweetheart Lois for 72 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Lloyd was preceded in death by: his parents, Sherman and Julia DeBoer, wife Lois in 2021, son Richard DeBoer; daughter-in-law Mary DeBoer & Sandy DeBoer; brothers: Ray (late Lois) DeBoer, Alvin DeBoer, Paul DeBoer; sisters: Jennie (late Frank) Gatesy, Aleda (late Bob) DeWeerd; sister-in-law: Doris (late John) Kotman, Hermina (late Al) Eding; brother-in-law: Gradus (late Florence) Lubbers;
Lloyd is survived by: his children Allen, Cal (Rett), Bob (Lin), Jerry (Beth); daughter-in-law Carolyn DeBoer; sister-in-law Marilyn DeBoer & Clara Ten Hagen; 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; extended family and friends.
A visitation for Lloyd will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at 14th Street Christian Reformed Church, 14 West 14th Street, Holland, MI 49423, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
