Originally from Gary, Indiana, Linda attended Valparaiso University and earned degrees from Grand Valley State University and Hope College. She worked for Head Start, West Ottawa and Zeeland school systems as a substitute teacher, and Sears. Linda was a charter member and served in many ways at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, specifically in the teachings of Sunday School, Catechism, and Confirmation classes. She was also the first female Cub Scout leader in the area. In her spare time, Linda loved to cross stitch, read, travel the world with her husband Bill, and most importantly spend time with her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Emil and Rachel (Walsh) Dian; sister Kathleen Penzado and brother David Dian.
She is survived by her husband Bill of 56 years; son John (Kelly) Kievit; granddaughter Madeline Kievit; sisters-in-law Joyce Harper and Carol Brink; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held July 3, 2021 at 11:00am at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 3151 120th Ave., Holland.
Visitation will be 10am until the time of the service on July 3, 2021 at the church.
