James was born in Galveston, Texas May 28, 1978. He grew up in the Manistee area and graduated from Casman Alternative Academy. James had a love for the outdoors, fishing in particular, along with “hunting” for morel mushrooms. He was beloved at work, Holland Vision Systems in Holland, and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his half brother Eric Maddox.
James is survived by his mother Vickey Kennedy and Donny Robertson; his children and their mother, Devin Olmstead, Payton Maddox, and Marcia Olmstead; brother Codey (Becki) Shively; nieces and nephew, Callie, Maddie, Savaya, Paul, and Ivory; aunt Debba Weber; his father James E. (Kelly) Maddox; half brothers and sister; grandmother Florence Fenner; many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
A private gathering to celebrate James’ life will take place in the Manistee area at a later time.
