Elinor Alice Koetsier

Elinor was born in Graafschap April 6, 1937 to George and Anna (DePree) Oetman, and was a member of Graafschap CRC until she married Ronald Koetsier. She and her family survived the tornado of 1956. A graduate of Holland High School, she worked as a book keeper for many years. Elinor was a passionate member of South Olive CRC, where she volunteered at Crossroads Prison Ministry. She enjoyed making pies at church and pig n blankets at South Olive Christian School. In her spare time she enjoyed Dutch dancing for many years through Evergreen Commons, reading, mowing lawn and going to her grandkids sporting events. She loved helping her kids, often working for Visser Farms at the Holland Farmers Market, and helped out at K2 Auto. Elinor enjoyed going on several mission trips, and for the last 23 years she enjoyed their winter home in Ellenton Florida. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sadly, her beloved husband Ron passed away in May of this year after 66 years of marriage.

Elinor is survived by her daughter Cindy (Philip) Visser and son Ken (Amy) Koetsier; grandchildren, Casey and Megan Visser (Anna and Charlie), Andrew and Laura Visser, Jo Ellen and Robert Havenaar (Rebecca, Philip, Andrew, Elizabeth, Daniel and Timothy), Jacob and Shelby Visser (Elsa, Molly and Jane), William and Brooke Visser (Jameson), Luke Visser, Isaac Visser, Katlyn and Ryan Geeting. Marissa and Hunter Lewellyn, and Sam Koetsier; siblings Helen Feenstra, Edna Vander Sluis; sisters and brother-in-law Corlyn Oetman; Joe VerMeulen, and Donna (Lyle) Veldheer; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 6 to 8 and Friday November 8 from 10:00am prior to the service scheduled for 11:00am at South Olive Christian Reformed Church.
