Eleanor Jane Kammeraad-Johnson

Eleanor was born to Peter and Nellie DeWeerd in Hudsonville, Michigan. Saved by her Lord and Savior as a young girl at age 12, Eleanor went on to live a life exemplified by faith. She married James Kammeraad and they raised four children together. Eleanor was married to James for 32 years until his passing. She later married Robert Johnson and expanded her fold by welcoming his children into her family, sharing 19 years together until his passing.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents Peter and Nellie DeWeerd; son Roger Kammeraad; husband James Kammeraad and husband Robert Johnson; as well as brother John “Bud” DeWeerd and sister Pearline DeWeerd.

Eleanor is survived by sons Ron (Kim) Kammeraad, Norm (Karol) Kammeraad, and Mark (Judy) Kammeraad; daughter-in-law Linda Kammeraad; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is survived by stepchildren Tim (Pam) Johnson, Mary (Mike) Martin, and Todd (Renee) Johnson, as well as several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Eleanor is also survived by sibling Nelvin (Eleanor) DeWeerd and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Eleanor will be held on Wednesday, March 6 at 12:00 PM at Lakeshore Memorial Services – 11939 James St. Holland, 49423 with Pastor Frank Senters officiating. A visitation take place from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Holland.
