David was born in Holland November 5, 1951 to David (Sr.) and Rayma (Hughes). He was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Holland High School in 1970. David retired from Life Savers and also worked as a mechanic. He loved collecting comic books, working with model trains and cars, watching & collecting movies, was an avid reader of mostly Western & Destroyer Books, but will be remembered mostly for enjoying spending time with his family, his sense of humor, laugh, and being a teddy bear; tough on the exterior but soft and gentle on the inside.
His parents preceded him in death, along with a grandchild Kyle Baker; sister Deborah Moore; parents in law Wayne and Mary Schaeffer; sister in law Mary Bejarano, Brother in-laws James Schaeffer, Wayne Schaeffer, Paul Holle and his nieces Janice Bejarano, Patricia Dunn, and Nikkole Riojas.
He is survived by his wife of more than 46 years, Susan Moore; daughters Chenoah Moore and Jennifer (Scott) Achterhof; beloved Dog Teddy; grandchildren Tyler Baker, Ashley Baker, Austin Achterhof, Preston Achterhof; 9 great grandchildren; brothers Richard Moore of Indiana, Donald Moore, Mark (Shirley) Moore, both of Holland, Sisters Rayma Sawyers of FL Trudy (David) Bernard of TX;
Sister in-laws Anita Holle of FL, Rose (Ed) Zych of Holland Brother in Laws; Steve (Lisa) Schaeffer of MI, Henry Bejarano of FL, & Thomas (Rita) Schaeffer of GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Harbour Light Baptist, 9608 Hiawatha Drive, West Olive. Officiating will be his nephew Pastor Matthew Moore. Burial will be in North Holland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8:00pm on Wednesday, October 9 at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James St., Holland.
