Annette was born in Holland on May 2, 1929 and was a lifelong member at Pine Creek Christian reformed church, where she served as Sunday school teacher, and played piano to the school children. She and Bernard also served as janitors after Bernard retired for 10 years. In 2007, they moved to South Olive Christian reformed church. She then served for 10 years at Bibles for Mexico with Bernard.
Annette worked on her parents, Richard and Alice Brouwer‘s farm for many years. She met and married Bernard on June 9, 1950 after he returned from serving in the US Army tour during WWII. They settled in Holland and started their family, giving birth to Ruth in 1951 and Ron in 1955. Annette worked at Esenberg Produce and retired from West Ottawa schools in food services after 21 1/2 years. They enjoyed traveling across the country on family vacations, and chose to winter in Florida for 10 years.
Annette was preceded in death by: her parents, Richard and Alice Brouwer, her husband Bernard, her brother Ray and Marion Brouwer, Lawrence and Joyce Brouwer, Les Brouwer, Dorothy Brouwer, Elsa Brouwer, brother and sister-in-law, Hank and Josephine Van Kampen, Les and Joyce Zwiers, John and Patricia Zwiers, and brother-in-law, Norman Zwiers, and infant great grandson, Drew Van Nuil.
Annette is survived by: her brother, Russ and Wilma Brouwer, sister-in-law, Frankie Zwiers, Adele Mulder, daughter, Ruth and Larry Van Nuil of Zeeland, son, Ron and Debbie Zwiers of Gaylord, grandchildren, Scott and Christy Van Nuil, and Chad and Kristel Van Nuil, and step-grandson, Chris and Becky Stark, great grandchildren, Kellie Van Nuil, Travis Van Nuil, Levi Van Nuil, Carly Van Nuil, Ben Van Nuil, Justin Stark, Landon Stark and Karly Stark, and cousin, Lorraine Brower. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, friends and acquaintances.
A visitation for Annette will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lakeshore Memorial, 11939 James St, Holland, Michigan 49424, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of West Michigan.
