Wendell H. Swafford, 88, of Chattanooga passed away, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at his home surrounded by family and friends. He retired from Lee Engineering and was a member of the Alhambra Shrine. He was born in Bledsoe County to the late John and Lou Swafford.
Wendell was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Swafford, sisters, Johnnie Martin, Lecile Thurman, Edna Thurman, Glines Thurman, Billie Roberts, Mildred Griffith and Wilma Griffith.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Lou Swafford, son, Mike Swafford (Judy), grandson, Bryan Swafford and a granddaughters, Jamie Swafford (A.D.), Kinzie Hale and Kayla Roach, sister-in-law, Margaret Harris and nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-8, Friday, October 11 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
