Born on September 5, 1936, and is preceded in death by her loving husband, David Prater, of 63 years.
Survivors include daughter, Jill Prater (Scott) Schoolfield; granddaughter, Allison (Andy) Burk; great-grandsons, Owen, Griffin, and August; grandson, Eric (Sammy Jo) Schoolfield; and great-granddaughters, Emma, Josie, Ellie and bonus Aerial Oldham.
Mrs. Prater was a lifelong member of Ridgedale Baptist Church where she and David were married.
After retirement from Ahlstrom Filtration as an administration assistant, Mrs. Prater loved to travel with Dave. They went on many cruises. They especially enjoyed their motor-home traveling to Florida in the winter months and many other “bucket list” destinations throughout the years. Her all-time favorite destination was Daytona Beach, Florida where she went for her honeymoon to watch the races and for many years with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. She was blessed to be called Nana by her grands.
She will be dearly missed by many especially her family. The family wished to thank Alexian Village Tennessee long term care for all the love, kindness, and care they showed her.
