Wallace James Lewis, 81, of Signal Mountain Tennessee, passed away at his home on December 10, 2024. A long-time resident of Signal Mountain, Wallace had previously lived in Navarre, Florida and Cleveland, Tennessee.
Wallace Lewis served as an electronics technician in the U.S. Air Force and later retired from IBM as a computer engineer. Known to his friends as “Lightnin’ Lou,” Wallace was an avid supporter of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. He also served as a public address announcer at the former Brainerd Optimist Drag Strip in Ringgold, Georgia.
Wallace was predeceased by his parents William B. and Laura J. Lewis, his sister Phyllis, and his brothers William Jr. and Bryan.
He is survived by his children: Kim, Rikk (Linda), and Troy (Amy); his grandchildren: Bryan (Melanie), Shea, Gabbie (Adam), Anna-Kate, Breanna, Christopher, Drew; and great-grandchildren: James and Lily. His brother Ronnie (Brenda) and sister Suzie also survive.
The family will hold a private ceremony to honor Wallace Lewis. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in his memory.
