A long-time resident of Hixson, Virginia was a 1961 graduate of Hixson High School, where she was the Treasurer of her class and a member of the Color Guard.
In 2013, Virginia retired from Republic Parking Systems as a Bookkeeper after 23 years of service.
Virginia loved spending time with her family, who called her Memaw, and they celebrated her 80th birthday in October. She loved her family dearly and had recently become a great-grandmother, which she was so proud and overjoyed about. She adored her beloved dog, Gracie, tending to her flowers, and would frequently send pictures of both to her family. She loved Krispy Kreme donuts and country music and looking at old photos. She was a great cook and gave the best hugs. She loved to travel and had the opportunity to go on a two-week trip to Europe with her family in January of 2019, which was one of the highlights of her life.
Virginia is proceeded in death by her parents, Logan and Mildred Stewart, her brother, Clayton Stewart, and nephew, Billy Stewart.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Angie McNair Miller, son, Craig McNair (Sarah), granddaughter, Chelsea Hicks (Tyler), great-granddaughter, Sophie Hicks, and grandsons, Zach and Josh McNair.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life for Virginia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter in Memaw’s memory.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
