Rethel was born in Blue Ridge, Georgia and has been a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. She retired from DuPont Corporation. Rethel was a longtime member at Red Bank Baptist Church and its Faith Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband J. Mitch White; and a sister, Ruth Riley.
Rethel is survived by her three sisters and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 pm on Wednesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Rethel’s life will follow at 2:30 pm on Wednesday at the North Chapel Reverend Bill Harvey officiating. Burial will be held in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
