Phil was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 18 years, Dana Ramsey-Wilkerson, his two daughters: Lee Ann Wilkerson, Harriet Wilkerson Markham (Skip), three grandchildren: Philip Wesley Wilkerson, Wil C. Markham, Ill (Harmony), and Mary Stuart Markham, sister-in-law, Michelle Belk (Jonathan), and nephew, Jesse Belk, and father-in-law, Terry Ramsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents Artie Lunsford Wilkerson and Grady Wilkerson, and late wife Jayne Stuart Henderson Wilkerson.
Phil was born on August 1, 1941. He was a member of the Red Bank High class of 1959 and studied Industrial Engineering at the University of Chattanooga where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He worked several decades as a supervisor in the local textile industry and enjoyed many years of retirement.
Phil was an enthusiastic hobbyist, enjoyed time with his friends and family, and many trips taken with his loving wife. Phil was an accomplished marksman and motorcyclist. He enjoyed building things with his hands. He was an excellent cook and gardener, passions he inherited from his mother and shared with his daughters and grandchildren.
He will be missed very much.
Phil’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 20th from 4-7 pm and Thursday, the 21st from 11 am to 12 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 Thursday with Skip Marcum officiating. Interment will follow the services in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
