Dear Members of Nancy's Family,

Please know that I send you sympathy for your loss of Nancy Simmons Hall Davis.  Although you don't know me, I share in your loss.  I loved Nancy dearly.  We were in the same small group at church.  

I will always remember Nancy as a beautiful person inside and out--a Christian who radiated warmth, kindness, and deep faith.  Soft spoken, she reminded me of a fragile china doll with  her flawless complexion,  model figure,  elegant bearing, and immaculate appearance, but she was tough.  She didn't let her delicate health stop her from driving her car even at 94. She was concerned about all of you, both her children and her stepchildren. She loved you dearly and prayed unceasingly for you. 

I was honored to have known such a special woman. Hers is a life to celebrate.

We first met Nancy in April, 2012 when we moved from Nebraska to Alexian Village in Signal Mountain, Tennessee.  We have livedon the same floor of one of the large buildings in Alexian Village, and saw each other very often, pausing to chat often, and sharing a special friendship.  In her always cheerful sweet way, Nancy was truly a lovely lady.  I, Joan, admired and adored her.  We miss her deeply, but find comfort that she is at peace in heaven with her loved ones, now free of pain.  We are making a donation to the Alexian Resident Scholarship Fund in her honor and memory.

I have such fond memories growing up with Marina and Lorin’s Yiayia.  Even into adulthood, I knew her as Yiayia, never Nancy.  She was so kind to me and always treated me as one of her grand-daughters. 

 She was absolutely beautiful, inside and out.  What a long life!  And so much love she gave in her 95 years.   She will truly be missed by so many.  

Our Dear sweet Yia Yia, 

I cannot even put in to words how greatly you will be missed! I will miss listening to you tell all the wonderful stories you told about your life adventures! I will miss just hearing your sweet, sweet voice...and seeing your beautiful face! You were such a family person, celebrating birthdays and holidays always! You made each and every one of us feel special! I will miss you calling me up to let me know of happening “spirit sales” that we would go to together! Mostly I will miss seeing your beautiful, ageless face! I know you were tired, you told me so, months before your accident ever happened!  I know you had a wonderful long life! I am just so sorry that this happened when it did! I am just so sorry that you couldn’t have your family by your side for the past 5 months,! We all would have been there if we could have! Thank you for your never ending love, support, care, and concern! We all love you so very much! You WILL be greatly missed, until we meet again!

Nancy's son Mike and I met while attending McCallie School. I can't remember the year I met his mother, but I was still calling her Mrs. Hall until about a year ago. It was only then that I called her Nancy.
Forever gracious, she was like a second mother to me. She will be missed.

Nancy was always the same wonderful, generous, and loving person.  It was my privilege to know her for the last 25 or more years. She was a lovely friend I will always cherish. My condolences to the surviving family members. I know she will be missed. I will especially miss her sweet smile.
