Michilene “Mitch” Hill Shaw, 72, of Hixson died Sunday, February 25, 2024 at her home. She was born July 31, 1951 in Rockwood, Tennessee to the late Charles Edward and Ava Lee Hill. Mitch went to work at TVA when she was only 18 years old. She retired from TVA after 31 years of service. She was a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church. Mitch’s ministry was giving cards; she would remember everyone’s birthday or anniversary with a card.
Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Alvin Shaw; children, Shannon Shaw, and Houston (Krista) Shaw; grandchildren, Peyton (Tyler) Milton, Abigail Shaw, Taylor Brown, Brittany (Josh) Wooten, Cara (Tom) Healey and Kaigen Mulkey; great grandchildren, Emery Carlson, Thomas Carlson, Peyton Wooten, Christian Royse, Cruze Royse, and Lewis Healey; sisters, Margaret (Danny) Tomlinson and Darlene (Ken) Samples; nephew, Kenny (Robin) Samples and a niece, Christy Standridge; great nephews, Bryant Samples and Jayce Standridge.
The family will receive friends at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home from 4-8 Thursday, February 29, 2024 and Friday from 12-1.
Funeral Services will be Friday, March 1 at 1:00 at the North Chapel with Reverend David McNabb and Reverend Dwight Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
