Joel Rhonell Williams, age 85, went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Carolyn Rexine Williams. A man of great Baptist faith, Joel retired from ABB and afterwards volunteered his time at Bethel Bible Village. He loved fishing, camping, bowling, singing and UT Vols Sports.
He is survived by a brother, Winford Williams; sister, Margaret Ledbetter; daughter, Rana Dodson; son, Jerry (Jola and CJ) Williams; granddaughter, Angela (Jess) Beihoffer; two great grandsons, Jake Beihoffer and Ryan Beihoffer; and so many dearly loved friends.
The family gives special thanks to his neighbor and dear friend, Shirley Korte for all her loving care in helping to keep him at home as long as possible. Also, much gratitude to Andrea’s Personal House and Hearth Hospice for the compassionate care they gave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made sent to Lana’s Love Foundation, 1801 E 24th Street PL, Chattanooga, TN 37404.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31st from 1-3 pm at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson. There will be a graveside service to follow at 3 pm in Hamilton Memorial Gardens where Joel will be laid to rest aside his loving Carolyn. Rev. Kenneth McElhaney will officiate.
