Tennessee Football, Blues, and Church of Christ.
Talk about a loyal fan to the VOLS!!! You couldn’t get into a conversation with Jason without one of these subjects coming up. He loved the Volunteers and devoted much of his time to them, football season or not. During the off season, when he wasn’t keeping up with the Vols, it was fishing and being the southern country boy that he was raised to be.
Jason had a passion for music that he shared with anyone willing to listen. He would find out what you were interested in listening to and turn you on to 15 different artists you never heard of that would turn out to be your new favorite musicians.
Jason had a great relationship with our heavenly father. His faith ran deep, inspired by his grandmother. Some of the best memories I had with Jason were going to Church. I admired his faith in God and how strong his relationship was with the Church of Christ. I remember going to Church with Jason and Uncle Frank in Tennessee. It was a perfect day and spending that time with Frank was very special to him. He spoke of that often. He always spoke very highly of Uncle Frank and how much he loved and respected him. If you’re reading this, Frank, I hope you know how much Jason loved and cared about you. You were so important to him in many ways and I know he appreciated and looked up to you.
If there is one thing to be said about Jason it’s that he was a loyal person. He was loyal to his friends, loved ones and country. When talking to him about his country he took great pride in that he served his country. Jason had a very charming side to him that I fell in love with. He could always make me laugh, even though at times I wanted to punch him in the face. 
I really admired the time and patience that he took with the elderly. He spoke often of the love that he had for his grandmother, Helen, and how she was the “glue” that held the family together when times were hard. I remember so many times, the extra time Jason would take to hold the door open, or carry groceries for someone in need. Jason had an “eye” for people that needed to feel welcome. If there was someone in the crowd that felt uncomfortable, it was Jason that would welcome them into the group, buy them a drink, and make them feel at home. He never tolerated someone laughing at another’s expense. This was another part of his character that I loved, he accepted people as they were.
Jason was always eager to make sure that his family was taken care of. While he lived here in Idaho, he talked often of Uncle Frank, his mother Debbie and sisters and much he cared and loved them. He always wanted to make sure they were safe and taken care of. If there was ever a need from any of them, there was never a second thought to him helping them. Family was important to him.
 Another thing that can be said about Jason is his love for animals. If there was a dog in the room with Jason, Jason would be all over the animal and vice versa. He had a way with pets and lit up around them. You could see a very tender/youthful side of Jason when he was around animals. You would never catch him mistreating any animal.
 Jason was a man of ORDER. I’m sure many would laugh when you read that, because it is true. He liked things a certain way. From how his shirts were ironed, to the way he made his bed. There was a correct way of doing things. The only thing that he didn’t care about how it was done - was food. Jason would eat ANYTHING, and everything. This was great because, as his ex-wife, I can admit to being a horrible cook, except in his eyes because he thought everything I made was gourmet! No matter what I put in front of him, it was the best he ever had according to him. He made me feel special that way.
 Jason was a very compassionate, trustworthy, person. You could rely on him. He touched many people in life in a positive way. Although he was taken away from us too early, I hope the experiences I’ve shared about him help his loved ones cope with the grief of losing him. I was very close to Jason, my thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones at this time.

I helped to lay your body to rest today,as 1 of 4 Caretakers at the C.N.C. I sensed the love and grief of your family & friends for you,and without explaination, knew this was someone special to so many.  We treated you with respect as we closed the last viewing of the beautiful casket within the crypt. In Christ, you Jason Ryan Hood are absent from the body and present with the Lord. I'm blessed in this last priviledge of serving a fellow veteran, and may your family be comforted by the Holy Spirit of God Almighty, in your loss. Present Arms, ready two and salute. Amen

Rest in peace Jason... You will be missed.  My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family in this time of sorrow.  May God grant peace and serenity to all who are grieving this tragic loss.

May you have them all upstairs laughing and having fun like you did down here. You were a wonderful person full of life. I'm glad to have gotten to know you and smiled with you. My prayers are with you and your family.

"Hood", you had a way about you, to where you could light up any room. Devon, Mike, and I will always cherish the memories and great times we had together. Thanks for being my friend! It was a pleasure and an honor to get to know you. You will be greatly missed!

I am a better person from having a person of your caliber in my life to call a friend.  While you've left us to soon, I know you'll be watching over us now.  May God bless you and your family.  Thanks for everything Troop, you will be forever missed.

You will always be remembered. You had a great attitude and you really cared about people. I'm thankful that I was able to get to know you and for the good times that we had. You were a great roommate, soldier, airman, friend and human being.

Jason, may you Rest in Peace with the Lord...You were taken from the world way too soon and you will be missed, Troooopp. You touched many lives all around the world and you will never be forgotten...I can still taste those nasty boiled peanuts you would make...and all the Turkey Drankin' with you, me, Mac, Tommy and the rest of the brotherhood/Mtn Homies...my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...miss you, brother...much love and respect from the Robinson Family...

Thank you for the wonderful times we shared my brother, it has been an honor to serve our contry with and be your friend. May God bless you and your family. As it saddens us to see you go we know you're up there watching down on us. Until we meet again you will be missed.

Jason was a wonderful person that could always make the whole room laugh.  I had the honor of deploying with him to Iraq in 2005.  He was a hard working troop that loved and defended his country.  May God rest his soul.  My prayers and thoughts are with his family.

Our country, state and BCHS class of 1993 lost a wonderful soldier when your life was tragically cut short. Haven't saw you in years but still remember our friendships and times at school. Thanks for serving our country with bravery.
