George was born in Ludington, LA on January 24, 1918. He received his Mechanical Engineers Degree from LSU and was retired from TVA with over 25 years of service. George resided at The Terrace on Mountain Creek Road.
George was a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church and the Shaw - Murray Sunday School Class and was a former teacher of the Carver - Tarwater Sunday School Class. He served in many capacities in the church, including Chairman of the St. Luke’s Ministry, Counselor and Institutional Representative with the Boy Scouts at the church. George served with Contact Ministry for over 20 years as a counselor.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Emma Riddle and all his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Luella “Lue” Salamone Riddle; son Greg (Sheila) Riddle; daughter, Linda (Bob) Harris; sister-in-law, Betty Sheakley; grandchildren, Ryan (Erin) Riddle, Robert Harris, Rhonda (Robert) Plaster, Melanie (Gerald) Underwood, Andy (Regina) Neal and Robin (Joey) Sisemore; great grandchildren, Juliana Riddle, Brandon and Dylan Plaster, Logan Neal, Lexie Sisemore, Courtney Baskett, Ansley, Bergen and Traven Underwood and Ryan Harris; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for George will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, at the Red Bank United Methodist Church, 3800 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, TN 37415 with Rev. Jeff Lambert officiating. The family will receive family and friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. The Shaw – Murray Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George’s name to Red Bank United Methodist Church.
