He was a graduate of City High School. Butch received his Master of Divinity from Lee University. He pastored Abundant Life Church in Red Bank for 10 years. Butch was employed with Rhea Mental Health. He was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed reading and building train sets. He was also VFL or “Vol for Life”.
Butch was preceded in death by his father, George Herman Higgins.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandy Higgins, son, Scottie (Michelle) Higgins, daughter, Misty Bowman (Randy Hess), step-son, Rick (Shawnee) Ward, and step-daughter, Shirley (Damian) Dematteo, grandsons, Scottie Lee; Austin; Brandon Higgins, and Memphis; Dakota, and Phoenix Bowman, great-grandchildren, Mallory Higgins and Ace Dillon, mother, Mildred (John) Spain, sister, Rhonda Stiles, niece, Jamie Stiles, and many dear friends.
Due to COVID-19 concerns the family will have a Celebration of Butch’s Life memorial service at date to be announce later.
Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist North Chapel, 5401 Hwy 153, Chattanooga, TN 37343.
