Ed was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area attending East Ridge High School. Ed began his working career early, including as a grocery clerk, amusement park worker and vacuum cleaner salesman. He went onto a long career in industrial equipment, supplies and consulting including as the manager for the local branch of a National supply company and later started his own company. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of professional golf. Many vacations were focused around the opportunity to play new courses. His passion was classic 1960s GM muscle cars. He enjoyed a second career restoring classic cars. His knowledge, skills and commitment to classic cars was impressive. He enjoyed attending various local and regional events admiring the various restoration, showing his own cars, sharing his knowledge with others and swapping stories with other enthusiasts.
Most of all, Ed was about caring for family. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to help out his loved ones.
Ed was preceded in death by his father Ed Curvin, Sr.; and his sisters, Patricia Sims, and Gail Watkins.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Curvin. They met as teenagers and remained together and happily married for 54 years. Together they raised three wonderful sons. Ed (Amy), Rodney (Teresa), Mark (Julie). He is also survived by his mother, Frances Curvin; sister, Donna Eller, and niece, Jamie Mooney. He was blessed with grandchildren Anna, Max, Geoffrey, Maleah, Amelia, Johnny, and Katrina.
Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside in Hamilton Memorial Gardens on Saturday December 9, 2023, at 2:00 PM with Rick Crisp officiating. The family will receive friends (at Noon), for two hours prior to the service at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
