Edward Franklin Brannon (Pa Pa), age 75, peacefully passed away at his home on Monday, April 10th, 2017. Eddie was a blessing to everyone he touched. His family was at his side when he went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed having fun on the lake with his family. He spent many countless hours patiently teaching all comers how to ski, along with pulling the kids around on the tube. His positive attitude and loving spirit served him well in forging friendships and making him a successful business owner and entrepreneur. After graduating Soddy Daisy High School, he went to work in the warehouse at Brown’s Furniture. Through hard work, loyalty, and help from his mentor Mr. Ernie Brown, he later became Vice President and part owner of Brown’s Furniture. In 1987, Eddie took a leap of faith and opened EF Brannon Furniture in Hixson. He was well respected in his industry and received countless accolades for performance in his field.
Eddie was an accomplished instrument rated private pilot for 20 years. He loved competition and was a great athlete. In high school he was a captain of his football team and in 2016 was inducted into the Soddy Daisy High School Alumni Hall of Fame. Whether it was riding motorcycles with his son and nephews, playing tennis with his buddies (Sam, David and Joe), or the quarter per hole golf matches with Jim, everything was a competition and he loved it, especially winning.
God blessed Eddie’s loving spirit with a wonderful family from his first marriage of 50 years with Winkie. When she passed away God sent an angel in his second wife, Jessie. Not many people can count on having one great family. Eddie was blessed with two great families. He loved them all equally and with all of his heart.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia Brannon, daughter Kimberly Ellis, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, mother and father.
He is survived by his wife Jessie Brannon, son Greg (Anjie) Brannon, daughter Audra (Glenn) Pumpelly, son-in-law Paul(Sandra) Ellis, step son Tony (Lee) Dobbs, step daughter Stephanie (Marcus) Keith, step daughter Gina (Chad) Tabor and Angie (Brent) Arnold. He also left behind many grandchildren: Scott, Callie, Abigail, Lydia, Luke, Grayson, Walker, Gray (Lauren), Claire, Anna Leigh, Jenna, Natalie, Jessica (Trent), Justin, Dylan, Will, Mattie, Austin (Emily), Jared (Jana) and four great grandchildren: Remy, Blair, Brady and John Paul.
He is also survived by two sisters, Joann (Steve) Weeks and Carrie Dalton.
