Christene Blessing Bowles

Christene Blessing Bowles, entered into life eternal peacefully on Friday, December 22, 2023--beloved wife of The Reverend Dr. Albert J Bowles, Jr. and mother to David Bowles, Dreama Martin (Eric), Dawn Lim (Wath), Dee Cain (Jac) and Laura Boyers (John), and grandmother to Chase and Chaney Martin, Christa, Titus, and Rachel Lim, and Emily Bowles Green, Travis, Cody, and Dylan Burnett, and great-grandmother to several great-grandchildren. She is sister to Betty Jo Blessing, Jerry Blessing, and Kitty Wilkens and deceased brothers Lee and Lewie Blessing.

Chris was loved and cherished not only by her family but also by her church family and life-long friends. She was a true and faithful servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her life as a servant leader is reflected through her most recent work for Strength for the Journey and as a volunteer with ABIDE, a ministry that works with those with cognitive struggles and their care partners, at First-Centenary United Methodist Church.

She will be greatly missed by all who love her, but we are at peace knowing that she not only lived a full life but that she is also with her Heavenly Father. Thank you for your prayers and support for our family as we grieve her loss.

The family will receive friends from 11 am until 1 pm on Wednesday, December 27, at First - Centenary United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Christene’s Life will follow around 1 pm at First-Centenary United Methodist Church 419 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga, TN 37402.
