Mrs. Barbara Ann Moody Ridge passed away May 7th, 2023. Barbara would have been 88 years young on May 8th and will be celebrating her birthday in the most amazing celebration ever, in her new Heavenly home!
Anyone who knew Barbara knows her grandson’s description of her is so accurate and paints such a vivid picture. He said, “Memaw should have been born in the Victorian era. She loved jewelry and dresses. She has always been a very well put together and classy lady. Memaw had high standards. She was a proper lady. She knew what she wanted and she didn’t stop until she got it. Memaw was the official “queen bee” of the family.”
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Gene Ridge; her parents, Robert and Nettie Moody; a brother, Lamar Moody and a sister, Sara Taylor.
She is survived by her two sons, Alan (Beth) Ridge and Terry Ridge, daughters Teresa Case (Donna), and Rhonda (Tony) Strickland; Grandchildren, Chris Ridge, Patrick Ridge, Jesse Ridge, Rebecca Stewart, Sean Case, Stephanie Strickland Curtis and Kane Strickland; Great-Grandchildren, Madi, Carter, Riley, Harper and Madison. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert Moody, Earlene Tolbert, Karen Bowman and Elizabeth Walker Wyrick.
We will greatly miss our Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and friend, Barbara Ann Ridge. We love you always and forever!
Service to be held at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel in Hixson on Wednesday, May 10th at 2:00 pm with Rev. Don Barnes officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 -2:00 pm. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
