Douglas Lee Cash, 67, of Commerce Twp, MI, passed away on December 16, 2024, after losing a hard-fought battle with Stomach Cancer. Son of Sylvia Pearsall, and Melbourne Cash, he was born on March 29, 1957, in Pontiac, MI. After Doug graduated from Walled Lake Central, in 1975, he continued being a car mechanic and later began working at Ford Motor Company in 1977.
Doug met Linda at the age of 11 and became High School Sweethearts. Doug and Linda went on to have 2 children, Jeremy and Jonathon.
An avid fisherman and deer hunter, Doug loved being outside. Whether it was driving his jeep/truck into the mud with the Rut Runners or cruising on his Harley, the dirtier he could get the happier he was.
In 2021, Doug retired and spent his time taking motorcycle trips, fishing with his wife, spending time with his family and creating metal art and sculptures.
Doug was predeceased by father Melbourne Cash, mother Slyvia Pearsall and Step-Father Eugene Pearsall. He is survived by wife Linda Cash, their children: Jeremy Cash (Arrisa Cash), Jonathon Cash (Peter Stenger); granddaughters Aubree, Kaylee, and Sophie; brothers Richard Cash (Jenny Cash), Gene R. Pearsall, and sister Roxanne Wells (James Wells) and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at Christ Church Cranbrook on Monday, December 23rd from 2:30pm - 4:30pm. In honor of Doug, who disliked dressing up. We ask that you dress casual & wear a Hawaiian or motorcycle shirts, if you have one.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Charach Caner Treatment Center – Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital.
"On Those Days One those days when you miss someone the most as though your memories are sharp enough to slice through skin and bone remember how they loved you. Remember how they loved you and do that for yourself. In their name in their honour. Love yourself as they loved you. They would like that. On those days when you miss someone the most love yourself harder."
