Mary Ann Szafarczyk age 93 of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully in her sleep, on December 29th, 2015; she is survived by her husband of 73 years Alfred, seven children Donna (Melvin) Clark, Donald (Susan) Szafarczyk, Mary Ann Szafarczyk, Carolyn Williams, Alfred (Susan) Szafarczyk, Susan Barber, Paula (Russ) Govert, 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Marie Blicharski and one sister, Bernice. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday morning, January 2nd, 2016 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Kuiper Funeral Home 9039 Kleinman Rd (two blocks south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Rev. Theodore Mens officiating; burial to follow Chapel Lawn Cemetery. Mary Ann enjoyed raising her seven children; she enjoyed bowling, needle craft, and sewing. In lieu of flowers; memorial donations to American Diabetes Association.
