Kenneth Vernon Tanis

Kenneth Vernon Tanis, age 82, of Dyer, Indiana, born in Hammond, Indiana on October 26, 1941, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Tanis, mother, Catherine Marie Tanis; brother, Peter Tanis; sister, Karen Tobak; and his previous wife Charlotte Jean Tanis. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mary Tanis; daughter, Barbara Hamner; sons, Calvin, Mark, and Peter Tanis; step-children, Terri Troglen, Kris Roberts, Quinn O'Sullivan, Robby O'Sullivan, and Colleen O'Sullivan; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a retired proofreader from RR Donnelly, a Dyer Town Council member for 8 years, a member of the Dyer Lions Club, Dyer Republican Organization, and the Dyer Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, located at 352 South Main Street, Crown Point, IN 46307.
