He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Tanis, mother, Catherine Marie Tanis; brother, Peter Tanis; sister, Karen Tobak; and his previous wife Charlotte Jean Tanis.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mary Tanis; daughter, Barbara Hamner; sons, Calvin, Mark, and Peter Tanis; step-children, Terri Troglen, Kris Roberts, Quinn O'Sullivan, Robby O'Sullivan, and Colleen O'Sullivan; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was a retired proofreader from RR Donnelly, a Dyer Town Council member for 8 years, a member of the Dyer Lions Club, Dyer Republican Organization, and the Dyer Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, located at 352 South Main Street, Crown Point, IN 46307.
