Harold "Jack" Ray Ralston, age 87, of Highland, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by his family. Jack was born the infant child of Royal E. and Gladys M. (Stone) Ralston in Lawrenceville, IL.
He leaves behind his loving family; Rae-Jeanne Cutler of Indiana, Teresa (Maurice) Theriac of Illinois, Donnie Ralston of Indiana; daughter in law, Reina Ralston of Indiana; six step-children, Debbie (Dave) Snyder of Indiana, Robert (Kelli) Fiala of Michigan, Rick (Valerie) Fiala of Arizona, James (Alyson) Fiala of Virginia, Thomas (Mary) McDonnell of Indiana and Debbie McDonnell, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three brothers and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 27 years, Ruth E. Ralston; son Roy Ralston and his parents, Royal and Gladys M. Ralston.
Jack will always be remembered as a devout parishioner of the First Baptist Church in Schererville, IN. He enjoyed reading the Bible and attending Church. Countless hours were spent playing various board games with marbles. He was a man of many talents while hunting, fishing, and woodworking. Being outside was a favorite past time. He could feed the squirrels as well as create memories with his friends and family. The community will remember his kindness and business acumen as he and his late wife, owned and operated the Woodmar Delicatessen in Hammond, IN. Inland Steel was grateful to him for the many years of service as a Millwright in their plant location. His hard work paid off, as he touched many people during his lifetime. He was a true patriarch of his family, leading them in Ministry and sharing the word of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To Love him was to know him, and to know him means he will never be forgotten.
A public visitation for Harold will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the beginning of the funeral service at 12:30 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd, Highland, IN 46322. Pastor Thomas McDonnell will be officiating. Harold's final resting place will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Garden of Freedom.
