Diana M. Vrabel Abbott

Diana M. Abbott, 75, of Highland, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2015 at William J. Riley Hospice of Munster with her loving family at her side. Diana was born on October 23, 1940 in East Chicago, IN to the late Mike and Marie Vrabel, and was a life-long resident of the Calumet Area. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George Abbott; three children, Mark and Scott of Highland, and Susan (Robert) Feld of Chicago; two grandchildren, twins Nicholas and Rachel; two sisters, Arlene (Jerry) Amendola of Dyer and Joyce Vrabel of Highland; a sister-in-law, Jeanie Vrabel of Virginia and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Michael. Diana was devoted to her children and grandchildren and enjoyed gardening, golfing and collecting green antique Depression glass. Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 12 noon until time of the funeral service at 3 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home (9039 Kleinman Ave; Highland, Indiana 46322) with Deacon Mike Halas officiating.
