Christine M. Ellis

Christine Marie Ellis (Cisar) left this life to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 10, 2017 while surrounded by loving family and life-long friends. She was born Sep. 5, 1944 in Peoria, IL but lived in the Calumet Region most of her life. She was a graduate of Bishop Noll HS, St. Joseph College, and Ball State Univ and achieved her masters degree in library science. She was a librarian for the Lake County Public Library for 35 years. She also volunteered for numerous church/community activities. Chris enjoyed reading, antiques, canning, sewing, gardening and clearance racks. She never drove past a garage sale without applying her brakes. She was gracious, intelligent and generous and will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have their lives touched by her.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents Oldrich and Zora, brother Thomas, daughter Catherine, and loving husband of 30 years, Robert. She is survived by her children Jeffrey, Gwendolyn (Vincent), Liane and her grandchildren, three brothers Nicholas, John, and James. Visitation is Wed Feb. 15 from 2-8 pm at Kuiper Funeral Home in Highland, IN. Catholic mass on Thurs Feb. 16 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Grace in Highland.
