Thomas Carl Duke, 80, passed away on December 11, 2012 at High Point Regional Hospital. Tom was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 25, 1932. Tom had many adventures in his life. He served in the Air Force and was a banker for many years before entering into building and developing. From Tennessee to Texas to California, Mr. Duke would eventually find himself in Atlanta before moving to High Point, where he lived for more than 30 years. In 1987, Tom made the decision to begin building on his land and started a construction company focused on new homes in the Quail Run Farm subdivision. His sons carry on the tradition with Duke Brothers builders. Tom enjoyed jazz music, playing the saxophone, and dancing the jitterbug.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Sandra Wells Duke. He leaves behind his children Steven Duke (Lisa), Alan Duke (Sherrie), Matthew Duke, and grandchildren Ethan and Gavin. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 4A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407 or a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15 at Sechrest Funeral Home in High Point. The family will receive friends after the service.
