Bob was born in High Point, October 18, 1932, a son of the late Robert Mayne Bundy, Sr. and Blanche York Bundy. He graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1954 and then married the love of his life, Betty Martin, before serving our country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Bob then began a long career as a hosiery executive with Adams Millis Corp., eventually becoming president.
Bob was an accomplished athlete, playing on the UNC tennis team and he won the High Point City Tennis Championship in 1950. He went on to become an avid golfer and shot his age on numerous occasions. Bob enjoyed spending winters in Florida. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and a noted soloist in the choir. Bob served as president of High Point Country Club twice. He was preceded in death by Betty Martin Bundy, Helen Dallas Warner Bundy and Carolyn Andrews Spillers Bundy.
Surviving are a son, Martin Bundy and his wife Dawn; two grandsons, Robert Marshall Bundy and Jackson William Bundy and a sister, Betty Webb.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Wesley Memorial UMC by Rev. Dr. Jeff Patterson. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Sechrest-Davis Funeral Home Friday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Children's Home Society of NC, 604 Meadow St., Greensboro, NC 27405.
