Michael James Combs Jr.

Michael was born in High Point, July 27, 1989, the son of Michael Combs and Amber Islam. He was a graduate of East Davidson High School. He worked at Thayer Coggins as an upholsterer. He was a great dad to his daughter Ava Faye and loved her greatly. One of his favorite places to be was at his PawPaw Combs’ cabin in the mountains. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James R. Combs and Tommy Abernathy and his uncle, Gary Hill.

Surviving are his daughter, Ava Faye Combs; his parents, Amber Islam and husband Tariq, Michael Combs and wife Nona; 2 sisters, Samina Garneau and son Jayse of High Point; Mauria Khan and daughter Soffiya of High Point; a brother, Rayan Islam of High Point; 2 grandmothers Sandra Abernathy of High Point and Virginia Combs of Lexington; four aunts, Karen Welborn and husband Mark of Walkertown, Sandra Combs Hill of Trinity, Karen Combs Tipton and husband Eddie of Albemarle, Penelope “Penny” Hedgecock and husband Johnny of Trinity; uncle Neil Wright and wife Kimberly of Greensboro, numerous cousins nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Michael’s life will be held Sunday at 2 in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel, 976 Phillips Ave by Pastor Lamont Scott. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 8p.m.
