Rev. Mark Howard Kearns, 59, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 4, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center after battling multiple health problems for several years.
Mark was born on January 7, 1965 in High Point, NC, a son of the late Gene Allen Kearns & Mary Hennis Kearns. He was a 1983 graduate of Parkland Sr. High School, and a 1989 graduate of East Coast Bible College, where he received his B.S. in Biblical Studies, with a focus on pastoral ministry.
Mark received his ministers license in 1989 and his ordination in 1992. He served as Senior Pastor of Worthville Pentecostal Holiness church (89-91), Mt. Pleasant Pentecostal Holiness Church (91-99), St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church (99-02), Brookneal Family Worship Center (06-08), and Faith Chapel Worship Center (09-12). When not serving as pastor or associate pastor, he did evangelistic work, ministering in various states and churches until his health diminished.
Those left to cherish his memory are son, Wade Kearns of Kernersville, daughter, Hannah (Andrew) Willard of Tobaccoville, his former wife and friend, Donna Trent Kearns of Kernersville; brothers, Johnny (Karen) Kearns of Winston-Salem, Charlie (Tracy) Kearns of Kernersville, Clark (Judy) Kearns of Denver, and a sister Rosie (Tony) Brady of Thomasville, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Mark's Life will be held on at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Parkview Church of God, Winston Salem, NC with Rev. Bobby Dishman & Rev. Darrell Greene officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
