HIGH POINT - John Brandon: son, father, husband, brother, uncle; passed away peacefully Thursday morning. His mother was at his side.
John moved to High Point in 1962, at the age of 5. It was important to John to give back to the city that had been his home. As a city planner, he helped author a land use plan that was in effect for many years. As a developer, he brought thousands of acres of office and warehouse space to High Point, with environmentally certified buildings, park like landscaping, and public art. He also served as chairman of the High Point planning and zoning commission. He was very proud of his roots, and received the “key to the city” for his efforts.
John will be remembered at the First Presbyterian church in High Point on Monday 10/2/17, at 3:00 pm. Donations may be made to the NC Mental Health Association in lieu of flowers.
