She was born on October 3, 1947 in High Point to the late John Thomas Byrd and the late Doris Allred Byrd.
Dianne was a life-long resident of High Point. She enjoyed reading and being involved at her church. Most of all, she loved her family, and her grandchildren were her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Byrd; and her husband of 52 years, James Leroy Shoemake in February of this year.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Baxter and Lora Shoemake; grandchildren, James, Summer, Jamie and Autumn; sister Jeannie Wilson; brothers, Jerry Byrd and Donald Byrd; several nieces and nephews along with many treasured friends, including her dialysis family.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, September 17, 2018 at Midway Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with Reverend Charles Mustain and Reverend Ronnie Scott officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Sechrest Funeral Service in High Point.
