Cynthia Annette Yates Alderman, age 59, of Lexington, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 due to complications from Covid 19. She was born on February 11, 1962 in High Point, NC to David Franklin and Betty Wilson Yates.
Cindy had a passion for God that she expressed every day to anyone she could share her knowledge with. I know that she is happy to be in God's arms now. She was a published author of both a romance novel, and a children’s book based on one of her most loved cats: “Paw.” She enjoyed painting as a hobby, and gained the nickname “paint slinger,” from her loving husband. She loved adventurous road trips to nearby destinations such as the beach, a park, or a drive through the mountains. She was loved as a mother, a wife, a sister, an aunt, a friend, and a neighbor. She had a big heart and would go out of her way to help others in need.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents; David and Betty Yates, her sisters; Barbara, Vicki, and Mary Ann Yates.
Cindy is survived by her husband Gary Scott Alderman; together 26 years, her daughter; Heather Newland, and son; Timothy Brooks, along with 5 grandchildren and many great nieces and nephews. She played a very important role in the lives of her nieces Amanda Yates Hachlowski and Catherine Myers and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Cynthia's name to the Animal C.A.R.E. Foundation of Winston-Salem, 11141 Old U.S. Hwy 52 Suite 5, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27107.
