High Point- Mr. Carter Dalton Ingram, 79, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at High Point Regional Hospital. Carter, a lifelong resident of High Point, was born on May 23, 1936, the son of the late Charles T. Ingram, Jr. and Mary Drew Dalton Ingram.
Carter attended the Baylor School for Boys, 1951-1954, and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1958. At UNC he was a member of the Air Force ROTC. He began his career at Carolina Container Co. in 1958, and moved through the ranks serving as secretary, then treasurer, and retiring in 2001 as Vice President. Carter was a longtime member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, joining at the age of eighteen.
Carter is survived by his wife Frances Clifton Ingram of the home; daughter Mary Drew Donati; grandchildren Sophia Grace Donati and Ryder Donati; sister Kathryn Ingram Lyon; and brother Thomas Ingram III.
A memorial service for Carter will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Alexander Ward with Rev. Jarod Stine assisting. The family will receive friends in the Asbury Room after the service.
