Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service on E. Lexington Avenue with the Reverend Eric Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 Noon until the hour of the service.
Beatrice was born in Stokes County, near King NC, to Claty Roy and Lummie Boyles-Allen on June 18, 1912. She was educated in the High Point Public School System. She was a devoted Mother and housewife all of her life.
She enjoyed attending church at North Main Baptist Church, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir there for twenty-two years. She opened the first nursery and served as secretary of the WMU. She was lately a member of Westchester Baptist Church. She loved to write poetry, some of which was published in the High Point Enterprise.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter Linda Sechrest of Jamestown, her two sons James and wife Carol of Columbia, SC and Thomas of Greensboro, two grandchildren Adam Sechrest, Michael Sechrest and wife Melissa, and three great grandchildren, Claire, Colin, and Harrison Sechrest as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Sechrest and eight siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westchester Baptist Church, P. O. Box 5188, High Point, NC 27262. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Shannon Gray Center for the care and devotion shown to Mrs. Sechrest during her stay there.
