William “Billy” Newton Pierce, age 74, of Taylorsville, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at home. Born June 16, 1942 in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Thomas Parks Pierce, Sr. and Luana Alton Guy Pierce.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Annie P. Foster, Francis P. Smith, Mary P. Robertson and Margaret P. Price.
Those left to cherish his memory are his fiancée and companion of 39 years Doris “Dot” Dobish; brother Thomas Parks Pierce, Jr. (Shirley); sister Lucille Nicks Bost; children Angie Pierce Spencer (Tracy), Mark Pierce (Michelle), Shon Dobish, Toni Rice (Wes) and Chad Pierce (Sherri); grandchildren Brandon Wooten (Jessica), Travis Wooten (Gina), Zachary Rice, Brandon Moore and Lauren Pierce; great-grandchildren Allie Moore and Layla, Rylee and Kennedi Wooten.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory.
A private graveside service will follow.
