Todd Eric Smith

Todd Eric Smith, 54, of Millers Creek, NC, formerly of Hickory and Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his residence due to complications following a hip replacement. Born February 1, 1964, in Caldwell County, he was the son of Janelle Teague Smith Kent and the late Jara Oxford Smith.

Todd attended school in Caldwell County and was a graduate of Hibriten High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he was a member of the Honor Guard.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, James C. Kent, Sr; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Vera Smith; and maternal grandparents, Ronald and Ruth Teague.

Todd is survived by his mother, Janelle Teague Smith Kent; brother, Gregory Oxford Smith; niece, Kayla Smith Wallace and husband Aaron; uncles, Brian Teague and Marty Teague; step-sisters, Becca Kent Lawing and husband Hal, Debbie Kent; and step-brother, James C. Kent, Jr and wife Tina.

A gathering of friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory . Burial will be private and will take place at a later date.
