Sharon was born July 11, 1949 in Marion, NC to the late Kenneth W. Berry and Ellen Lawing Hogan. She worked for the United States Postal Service for 22 years and at the end of her career, she enjoyed her reading and quilting. Sharon was a beautiful woman who had a distinctive personality and was kind and caring to others. She was a woman that you could trust and count on and lived her life to her own actions and thoughts. As Sharon said, “The journey is the reward.”
Those left to cherish her memory but saddened by her loss are her husband, David Jay Reynolds; son, Kenneth Daniel Reynolds and wife, Kimberley of Saint Marys, GA; daughter, Tracy Reynolds Donahue of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Lindsey Roberts and husband, Robert, Ashley Reynolds, Dylan Reynolds, Abigail Donahue, Hannah Donahue; great-grandson, Colton Roberts; sister, Frances Berry Womack and husband, Jim of Huntersville, NC; niece, Angela Womack Best; nephew, Jimmy Womack and wife, Stephanie; and a special inherited family, Mary Clark Berry, Mark Dorio and wife, Katherine, Daniel Dorio and Kary Dorio.
The family is grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff at Catawba Regional Hospice for their excellent care and kindness.
A Memorial Service in honor of Sharon’s life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Drum Funeral Home, 940 29th Ave. NE, Hickory, NC 28601.
Sharon Reynolds was an inspiration to all her beloved family and dear friends. She will live forever in our hearts. Her final resting place will be at the State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
The family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in Sharon’s memory to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Rd., Newton, NC 28658.
