Ruby Byrd Winkler

Ruby was born September 12, 1932 in Virginia to the late Jack and Sarah Dugger Byrd. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Gene Winkler; a daughter, Christine Carol Byrd; brothers, Ellis Byrd and Newton Byrd; sisters, May Davis, Bernice Walters and Velma Cline.

She was a member of Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church, Women’s Class, retired from Adam Millis Hosiery and a foster grandparent at Longview School.

Survivors are her daughters; Jeanie Berry and husband, Kenny, of Hickory, Vickie Brown and husband, Joe, of Hickory an Tammy James and husband, Dale, of Hickory; grandsons, Joey Brown and wife, Nicole, Jeff Brown and wife, Lawanda, Jason Berry, Ricky Brank and wife, Helen, Danny Powell, Jr and Darren James; granddaughters, Marcy Berry, Michelle Byrd and Monica James all of Hickory; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister, Gladys Wiggins of Ohio; brothers, Jack Byrd of Ohio and Lloyd Byrd of Hickory.

Services will be at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church on Saturday, March 2, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dale Faulkenbury and Rev. Paul Deal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 – 1:45 PM at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church.
