Rebecca Kanupp Sigmon

She was born on February 2, 1939 to the late Charles “Doc” Evan Kanupp and Ida Gilbert Kanupp in Catawba County. Rebecca was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church ELCA. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her heart and home was always open to everyone. She loved to feed her family and friends. All family get-togethers were at her home and you never left hungry. Her motto was “The More the Merrier”.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd Richard “CR” Sigmon; son, Walter Huffman, II; stepdaughter, Scottie Pastelak; and brothers, Charles Eugene “Gene” Kanupp and Jerry Kanupp.

Survivors include her children, Tamera Frontela and husband Luis of Hialeah, FL, Kimberly Swaim and husband Gil of Sherrills Ford; stepchildren, Ann Campbell and husband Terry of Hickory, Donna Hull of FL; grandchildren, Alicia Barreiro and husband Arian, Anthony Frontela and wife Izmari, Maria Frontela; great grandchildren, Darian Barreiro, Devin Barreiro, Katelyn Frontela, Matthew Frontela, Cameron Swaim and Jessica Swaim; step grandchildren, Julie Harbin and husband Jerry, Angel Bonchi and husband Edmond, Eric Campbell and wife Meredith, Michael Pastelak and wife Rebecca, Jon Campbell, Robert Hull; great grandchild, Ada Swaim; step great grandchildren, Krissy Helms, Maecie Brumley, Jessica Garcia, Isabell Pastelak, Jonathan Garcia, Cloyd Pastelak, Charlotte Campbell and Nora Campbell; sisters, Martha Spencer and husband Dale and Donna Specht and husband Joel; and sister-in-laws, Glenda Hafer Kanupp (Gene), and Glenda Crouch Kanupp (Jerry).

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:30 pm at Hickory Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 2:00 pm at St. Stephens Lutheran Church ELCA. Rev. Terri Landers will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
