Peggy Joyce (Benfield) Davis

Born in Catawba County on August 4, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Fred William and Grace Glenn Benfield.

She had a love for people and enjoyed doing for others. Family was very important to her. She also had a passion for politics on every level, and had attended and served as a delegate in previous political conventions.

Her husband Carl Wade Davis Sr., daughter Peggy Kathleen ‘Kathy” Throneburg George, grandson Robert William George; sisters Betty Shook, and Elizabeth Setzer, and a brother James Benfield preceded her in death.

Her sons Bradley Davis and wife Lindsay of Conover and Carl Wade Davis Jr. and his wife Martha of Greenville, NC; granddaughter Carlie Reid Davis of Conover and grandson Carson Bradley Davis of Conover survive Peggy.

The family will receive friends, Friday, April 5, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Hickory Funeral Home with Pastor Shea Pennington officiating.

Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
