Patricia Ann Pinkerton

Patricia “Pat” Goode Pinkerton, 88, of Hickory, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2023, at her residence. Pat was born on November 20, 1934 in McDowell County to the late James Leonard Goode and Mildred Rice Goode Teeters.

She graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte in 1968 and was a dental hygienist for 14 years. She was the founder and owner of Nice n’ Pretty Resort Interiors of Southport. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce and served as president in 1990-91. She hosted a women’s bible study in her home for 10 years. She was a member of The Chapel of Hickory in Hickory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Gene Pinkerton, a brother, Robert Goode.

Those left to cherish her memories are sons Lenny Shoemake, and wife, Pam of Rutherford College; Gary Shoemake, and wife, Terry of Southport; and step son Kenneth Pinkerton, and wife, Linda of Stanfield; daughters, Sandra Reid of Rutherford College; Cindy Meadows, and husband, Art of Conover; and step daughter Debbie Brown, and husband, Chip, of Huntersville; a sister, Hope Butler of Morganton; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on February 6, 2023, 3:00 pm at The Chapel of Hickory at 410 26th Ave NE, Hickory, the Pastor Dr. B. Dale Watts officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to The Chapel of Hickory at 410 26th Ave NE, Hickory, NC 28601 or Carolina Caring at 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
