Noah Robert Setliff was born on January 10th, 2000 in Jiangxi Province, China. Noah was adopted by Rob and Bobbie Setliff and came to his earthly home of Hickory, NC on Thanksgiving Day, 2004. Noah was fiercely loved by his parents, his four older brothers, Tripp, Drew, Luke and Isaac and his entire family. Noah had an infectious smile and mischievous spirit that mirrored one of his favorite characters, Curious George. Noah attended Startown Elementary, Jacobs Fork Middle, Fred T Foard, Maiden High School, and CVCC’s ABE program, winning the hearts of many students and staff who helped him grow along the way. Noah spent this fall working at Cracker Barrel with his job coach and friend Billy Dziesinski, an accomplishment he took much pride in.
Noah was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Hickory where he was baptized, confirmed and worshipped with his family. Noah enjoyed swimming and bowling with his friends at Special Olympics events, acting with the Limitless Theatre, making yummy food for those he loved, cutting the grass and washing dishes, both at home and at work. Of all the things Noah loved, he loved being with his family the most, especially all fourteen of his nieces and nephews.
Noah went to his heavenly home on December 13th, 2024. Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his parents Rob and Bobbie Setliff, his brothers Tripp (Erika), Drew (Mary Taylor), Luke (Leeann) and Isaac (Carmen) Setliff, his paternal grandmother Cornelia Steele, his maternal grandfather James Camp Jr, and his fourteen nieces and nephews (Dalton, Dillon, Andre, Elise, Harrison, Emmy, Caroline, Katie Lynn, Hudson, Elena, William, James, Nolan, and Audrey) and many other family members.
A service to celebrate Noah’s life will be held on Saturday December 21st at 11am at First United Methodist Church in Hickory. The family will receive friends after the service.
Memorial in Noah’s honor may be made to the Special Olympics of Catawba County, 2080 19th Ave Circle NE, Hickory, NC 28601 or First United Methodist Church of Hickory.
“If anybody understands God’s order for his children, it’s someone who has rescued an orphan from despair, for that is what God has done for us. God has adopted you. God sought you, found you, signed the papers and took you home.” — Max Lucado
