He was born on September 3, 1986 to Carolyn Pugh and the late Jerome Pugh. Lance was the youngest of four children. He dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and attended Detroit Public Schools. After spending many years in Detroit, Lance decided to relocate to Hickory, NC to be closer to his Mom and Uncle (the late Charles Gibson). He attended Exodus Church and continued to pursue his education/trade in Job Corps. Lance was a hardworking machinist, he loved working with his hands.
Lance decided to rededicate his life to the Lord and got baptized again. He always kept his faith in the Lord and praised Him everyday. He was polite, humble, respectful, loving, silly, playful and at times, he was a complicated and serious person, who was always thinking and trying to figure something or someone out. Lance enjoyed hanging out with family and friends. He knew everyone. Lance never met a stranger and if he did, once they heard one of his outrageous stories, he was a friend for life. Lance always had an interesting story to tell and he always made those around him laugh. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He also enjoyed watching videos on his cell, talking with his friends, family and his kids, whom he loved dearly. Lance always asked about them whenever he wasn’t around.
Lance loved to eat around the holidays and he loved sweets. Whenever a person was down or having a bad day, he would offer love, support, and encouragement. He would let you vent to him or he would vent with you. He was a friend to many that considered him a brother. You will be truly missed.
