Judy Donnelly Day

She was born on March 2, 1942 to the late Claude Donnelly and Lucille Ollis Donnelly in Catawba County. Judy was a graduate of St. Stephens High School and retired after several years of dedication to Sarstedt in Newton. If there was ever an occasion that involved her family, Judy was all for it. She loved to travel and spend as much time with them as she could. Judy also enjoyed volunteering, Sudoku, and being a part of her Bible Study group, Grace Girls of Christ Church Springs Road Campus, where she was a member.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Jack D. Day Sr..

Survivors include her son, William Jeffrey Barnette of Claremont; daughter, Jennifer Barnette Icard (Randy) of Bethlehem; grandson, Isaac Icard; sister Nancy Cuthrell of Conover; brother, Robert “Bob” Donnelly (Donna) of Claremont; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her very much.

Also surviving are her step children, Karen Salyer (Robert), Jack Day Jr. (Pamela); step grandchildren, Johnny Day, Roger Day, Mickey Day, Joshua Salyer, Kaylin Stelzer, Alivia Salyer; and a number of great step grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Hickory Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. Rev. Fred Thompson will be officiating the service. A private family burial will follow.
