Josephine was born on April 20, 1932 in Catawba County to the late Estelle Huffman.
In addition to her mother she was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, B.D. Buck Suttlemyre and two brothers, Norman Huffman and Glenn Barger.
She was a member of St Stephens Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, a 1951 graduate of St Stephens High School, and retired from Adam-Millis Hosiery.
Josephine enjoyed her hobbies which included bowling, fishing, ceramics, and spending time with her family and her dog, Spunky.
Surviving are a sister, Helen Suttlemyre of Conover, two nieces, Sherry Burns and husband Lee of Connelly Springs , Cynthia Wilkins and husband Steve of Statesville, a nephew Berry Suttlemyre and wife Denise of Conover , three great nieces , three great nephews and a number of great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday September 30, 2012 at St Stephens Lutheran—Missouri Synod with the Reverends David Guelzow and David Ziehr officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday September 30, 2012 from 2:45 until 3:45 at the church.
