Glenda Mae Childers Martin, 84, of Hickory, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born July 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Grover Franklin and Thelma Leona Sipe Childers. A member of Hickory Bible Church, Glenda worked in customer service in the fabric industry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Martin; brothers, Frank and David Childers; sisters, Jewell Coulter, Lora Childers, and Kim Leigh Childers.
Glenda is survived by her brothers, Tony (Sherlene) Childers, and Kevin Childers; sisters, Katie Childers, Ruie (Adrian) Jones, Cheryl Sigmon, and Tinita (Scott) Stoker; aunt, Ann Sipe, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Hickory Bible Church with Pastor Kurtis Massey officiating. A receiving of friends will follow the service.
A Graveside service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:30 am at Shiloh Lutheran Church Cemetery in Bethlehem.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Bible Church Missions fund, 909 US Hwy 70, SW, Hickory, NC 28602.
